Indeed the most crucial task as a Christians or as a Church is to search for relation with which our lives can be connected to the Bible. Searching for relevance in our own lives, community, and society is obligatory for Christ’s believers. Let us examine the abusive use of alcohol.

In some churches - “who we are” and “where we come from” counts - rather than “who we are’ in Christ. There is nothing wrong about celebrating our cultural identity but this should never be done at the cost of our Christian identity. The flavouring essence can never become the main ingredient. Any and every other identity must be subordinate to our identity in Christ.
