Discipleship

Written by Mr. Prabhakar Chandran

Of the twelve disciples of Jesus, the most prominent disciple was Simon Peter. Speaking out of turn, rash and impulsive in word and deed, Peter is definitely a character hard to miss in the pages of the Gospels, whose life and ministry has powerful messages for the Bible student even today. |

Marriage

Have you observed how couples who are dating or newly weds act when they are together? Some signs of them being romantically in love are the way they dress up to meet each other, sit close, physically touch and stare into the other’s eyes. There are various views on what ‘romantic love’ is all about; who is it really for and how it differs from, say, devotion to God, affection shown to family members or intimacy between friends. Those married for some years become conscious that our romance gradually, though not intentionally, can grow fainter, fade and even die away. Couples who ‘fall’ in love, soon realize their ‘flame of romance’ must be constantly rekindled, but how? |

Gen.26:12-122 Patriarchal history describes that Isaac came from Mesopotomia as semi-nomads, roamed through the land supported by the promise of God and that they migrated to Canaan. The growth of Isaac became the envy of the Philistines. |

Prayer

The disciples of Jesus asked him to teach them to pray (Lk.11:1). Let us look at the model Jesus gave to his disciples and to us in the area of prayer. The prayer in Matthew 6 is often called the Lord’s Prayer, but actually it could be called the disciple’s prayer, because it was meant for the disciples. I have divided this passage into 5 parts, with 5 P's. These are praise, priority, provision, penitence and protection. |

Marriage

Written by Rev. Johnson Sadhu Sunder Singh

Marriage is a life long bond between a man and a woman based on mutual concern, love and sex. The Biblical concept of marriage is grounded in Gen.2:23-24 - "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." The two phrases ‘leave’ and ‘one flesh’ is central to the biblical significance of marriage. |

Mother

For centuries women have played dominant roles only as mothers and wives. That has little to do with today's realities. On one hand, personal independence and success in one's career seem to get higher priority over family and children; while on the other side, there is an increasingly large number of women who have to assume full responsibility for their children because of the ever-increasing number of divorces. |

Healing
|
|
Written by Mr. John Samadhanam
|
|
Sickness is a disruption of the norm, it interrupts the ability to work and enjoy. Healing is generally understood as restoration to the state prior to the onset of sickness or injury. Healing is also the process of reconciling broken human relationships and to the development of a just social and political order among races and nations. |
